My thoughts on Russia’s recent actions in Ukraine and Syria.
Western countries have largely failed to meet the commitment they undertook – with much of the rest of the international community – to protect populations against war crimes and crimes against humanity such as the Syrian population has been subjected to since 2011. Having failed in their R2P commitment, the least that they should do now is ensure that they met their R2R commitment – their responsibility to receive.
